Route 66 Elementary School Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures

To ensure the safety of all students and the smooth flow of traffic during arrival and dismissal, please follow the procedures below.

Morning Drop-Off (Daily)

• All students will enter through the front doors.
  

• Drop-off time: Begins at 7:50 AM. There is no supervision before this time.
  

• Location: Use the Student Drop-Off Lane at the front of the school. Follow signage and staff directions.
  

• Procedure:
  

  • Pull forward as far as possible before stopping.
    

  • Remain in your vehicle while your child exits from the passenger side.
    

  • Staff will be present to assist students as needed.
    

  • Do not park in the drop-off lane or leave your vehicle unattended.
    

• Walking to Class:
  

  • On the first day of school only, families may park in the front lot and walk their child to class.
    

  • Beginning on the second day, students must walk to class independently after being dropped off at the front door.
    

Afternoon Pick-Up (Daily)

• Pick-up time: Begins at 3:00 PM (2:00 on Wednesdays).
  
  

• Location: Use the same Student Pick-Up Lane in front of the school.
  

• Procedure:
  

• Display your student’s number in your front windshield.

• Pull forward as directed by staff.
  

• Remain in your vehicle while your child is brought to you.
  

• Do not park and walk up to retrieve your child from the pick-up line unless directed by staff.
  

You may not, under any circumstances, pull out of line to pass any cars ahead of you during pick up or drop off.

Bus Riders

• Bus students will be dismissed from the designated bus loading zone on the west side of the building.
  

• Please do not park or stop in the bus lane.
