MESD Schools will have a 2-hour delay tomorrow, January 24th, due to forecasted snow throughout the night. Temperatures will be in the teens until 9am. We will be closely monitoring the changing conditions.

Route 66 Student Leadership Council have begun a sock drive to help community shelters. All classes will decorate a box and collect as many new pairs of socks for adults and children. If you would like to donate - drop socks by anytime between November 28, 2022 - December 14, 2022. Help us help others stay warm this winter!!! Goooo Roadrunners!

Route 66 Elementary Annual Read-a-thon - Join us in encouraging students to read as much as they can while earning much needed funds for Route 66 PTO to provide enrichment of the school and community experience. Students create accounts and then reach out to family and friends around the world to sponsor them. We also encourage students to read as many minutes during this time to increase their reading skills and the love of reading! Dear Parents, You may have heard that our students in 3rd - 5th have had access to the online program Multiplication Nation to help learn and practice their times tables. This summer "Mr. Alex", the creator of the program, is putting on the Wacky Math Show - a live, interactive and virtual experience, so your child can join from anywhere! It is intended for students in grades 3-6, but all ages will have fun! It is totally free for out students, and runs on Wednesdays this summer. Planning for Summer!! Starting today, May 23, 2022 all Rt 66 students will be bringing home summer learning kits. Today we sent home math, tomorrow we have a reading kit and on Wednesday - there will be a summer packet of fun! Please put these in a safe place where students can get to them and spend the summer practicing their skills and learn something new to keep their minds and brains alert throughout the summer!
