MMS: Good morning! This is to remind everyone that MMS is having its Semester 1 Academic Award Assembly today at 1:45. Families, if you are joining us please arrive a bit early to get checked in at the office. We will start as soon as possible to get students off to the buses at the end of the day. MMS: Good morning everyone! We hope this email finds you warm! We have got basketball games going on this week. Today, 01/14, students are being given slips if they received an academic or attendance award from the First Semester. This award assembly will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, January 15th at 1:45 pm in the MMS gym. You are more than welcome to join us as we recognize those who attended 95% or more of the 1st semester, or achieved a grade point average which qualified them for Silver Honor Roll and Gold Honor Roll! We've got a lot of great things going on at MMS and want to make sure we recognize these students and their achievements! Have a great week everyone!

MMS: Good evening families of MMS! We were going to be passing out new schedules tomorrow morning but due to the inclement weather we will not be since we won't be at school. Students should log into Powerschool and follow the schedule that appears there. Please log into the classes according to the schedule that was shared in the previous MESD communication about the Remote Learning Day. Links to Google Meets are posted in teacher's schoology pages. MMS: Greetings Families of MMS! We have wrapped up state testing for the middle of the year assessment and I can happily report that every grade level, 6-8 has shown growth in each of the testing categories since the beginning of year assessment in August. This is awesome! As a reward to the students for their great effort in flexing their mental muscle, all students will be able to attend tomorrow's dance. Those with behavioral referrals that led to In School Suspension or Out of School Suspension from December will still be ineligible for the dance. We really appreciate our students giving their best effort on these state assessments. Have a wonderful holidays and Winter Break. Thank you!
MMS: Good morning! We are conducting NM State Testing this week. We are assessing Language Usage, Mathematics and Reading. Students will be taking these assessments in their Math and Language Arts classes. We would greatly appreciate charged chromebooks and the students giving their best effort! MMS will be holding its Thanksgiving Lunch tomorrow, Thursday 11/21. If your student has our first lunch, A Lunch, that is from 11:11 to 11:41. If your student has our second lunch, B Lunch, that is from 12:04 to 12:34. Feel free to join your students for lunch on this date! MHS Football will be serving the meal, cost is $5 per adult. I had the correct day but incorrect date in a previous communication. During our MMS Canned Food Drive, students brought in over 1,000 items! This is incredible! Through staff donations and student contributions in the canned food drive we are going to be able to provide 14-17 families with a full Thanksgiving Meal! Great job MMS Students!

MMS: Good morning everyone! We just got word that the sports physicals we sent communication about yesterday have been pushed back to Friday 11/15 from 9-12. So there's more time to get physical packets turned in so that students can get their sports physicals for winter sports. Winter sports offered are basketball, grades 6-8 for both boys and girls as well as wrestling for 8th grade boys and girls through MHS. Stop by the office or visit the MESD website for the requisite paperwork. Thanks and have a great day!
MMS: Good afternoon. If your student is wanting to play a winter sport, basketball or wrestling (at MHS, 8th graders only) and is needing a physical completed, there will be a clinic tomorrow at MHS. We sent physical packets home with students who were interested today. Please return the packet filled out and we will escort the students to MHS so that they can get their physical completed. You're also welcome to stop by the office and fill out a packet. The physicals will be from 9 am to 12 pm tomorrow 11/12/2024. Thanks!
MMS: Good morning and Happy Veterans Day to everyone! This is a reminder that we have our Veterans Breakfast this morning 11/11, at MMS from 7:45 to 9:00. We are at the midway point of Quarter 2 so progress report cards will go out on Wednesday, please look for those! Basketball tryouts continue after last week's disruption due to the storm. We are excited to be back in the building and see our students! Our gratitude goes well beyond the single event that is Veterans Day. We are thankful every day for all Veterans who have given so much of themselves to preserve our freedoms! If you know a veteran, send them to MMS. We would be happy to serve them hot food and coffee. MMS: Good afternoon everyone, I hope this message finds you warm! This is to let everyone know that MMS will be hosting a breakfast for Veterans on Monday 11/11/2024. Weather permitting we will be cooking eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns for breakfast burritos on the MMS patio. There will be coffee, donuts and pastries in the cafeteria. If you know a Veteran, please let them know and invite them to join us at MMS or any of the MESD Veterans events. MMS Veterans breakfast will be from 7:45 am to 9:00 am. MMS: Good afternoon. Due to the storm lingering, MMS will be in a Remote Day tomorrow 11/8. We will attempt to follow the same schedule as today. Families, we understand that there have been issues preventing students from connecting to Google Meets. Staff are dealing with power outages as well. Staff will host Google Meets tomorrow if they're able to. If your students are able to log in, awesome! It represents a great opportunity to catch up on anything missing.
